We took a survey and this is what they really want.

December 19, 2019

Do you ever struggle with what to get your child's teacher for the Holiday Season?  We did a quick survey of some local teachers to find out really what they love.  No matter how big or small your budget, there is something for everyone.

What do teachers really love to receive during the holiday season??

  • Supplies for their classroom:  paper towels, tissues, disinfectant wipes, hand santizer, pens/pencils, sharpies, art supplies etc.

  • Gift Cards! This was the most popular response.  Some examples they gave are gift cards to Amazon, Target, Dunkin' Donuts, Barnes and Noble, Michaels, CVS, Staples.  (If you end up opting for a gift card perhaps you can check with the other parents in class to see who else is going the gift card route and pool your resources)

  • COFFEE cards, but only if you are sure you have a coffee lover on your hands, we all can appreciate that.

  • Gift Cards to local restaurants and/or restaurants within delivery distance to the school.

  • A handwritten note from your child.

  • Mason Jars with baking ingredients.

  • Personalized items: pencil cases, pens, bags, travel mug etc. with their name on it.

  • Unique Christmas Ornaments

  • Chocolate!

Some not so popular items.

  • Perfumes, lotions, soaps. People are often sensitive to different smells, and ingredients etc.

  • Home made foods, due to possible food allergies.

  • Candles

  • Mugs.  This item received mixed reviews.  Some teachers  enjoy receiving mugs while others have cabinets full.  The mug voters suggested to steer clear of the general mugs and go for a personalized mug or even a mug with a picture of your child's artwork on it!
